Lahaina Town Remembered- Restaurants
Down The Hatch & Breakwall Shave Ice
Down the Hatch, and Breakwall Shave Ice, have quickly become one of the most popular restaurants, and shave ice spots, in Lahaina. The two hot spots are located in the same location at The Wharf Cinema Center Shops on Front Street. Down the Hatch is open for breakfast, lunch, Happy Hour, dinner and late night. They have been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, and serve fantastic food with an even better Happy Hour. They are famous for their fresh fish, including their Mahi Mahi Tacos, Fish n’ Chips and Ahi dishes. Their Chicken & Waffles is a show stopper, as well as their Lobster and Crab Grilled Cheese. After a fabulous meal at Down the Hatch, head over to their sister store right next door and sample some of the best shave ice on the island. For all the adults out there, they even serve an “adult shave ice” which includes your favorite liquor! Finally your shave ice prayers have been answered. Kids receive a free shave ice with any kids plate purchased at Down the Hatch. |

Kimo’s Maui
Kimo’s might be one of the most famous restaurants on Front Street in Lahaina. Since 1977 this oceanfront eatery has been serving fabulous food, tropical drinks, and, incredible ocean views. It doesn’t get more “Maui” than Kimo’s. Kimo’s is a great place to visit after a day of site seeing and shopping on Front Street. The restaurants sits directly on the water’s edge, so you get some of the very best ocean views in all Maui. Sunsets experienced here are truly magical! We highly recommend obtaining reservations in advance; it can get pretty crowded during Maui’s busy season. We recommend their Fish and Chips, Fish Tacos and their famous Hula Pie. The Hula Pie is legendary on Maui and we’re pretty sure you won’t make it to the exit without trying this show stopping dessert. Be warned, you need at least two people to make a dent into this sky-high ice-cream pie. |
Fleetwood’s on Front Street
Fleetwood’s on Front Street is owned and operated by legendary musician, Mick Fleetwood. Not only is Fleetwood’s famous for their award winning food, but also for their sought-after ocean views and rocking live music! Their rooftop bar offers guests unobstructed ocean views, and a happy hour that does not disappoint. Every “Aloha Friday” happy hour starts at 11am and goes to 4 pm. There is nothing like experiencing a sunset on this famous rooftop, or an evening under the stars looking out over historic Lahaina Town. When dining at Fleetwood’s, you cannot go wrong with their Fleetwood Gem Oysters or Beef Wellington Surf and Turf. |
Pai`a Fish Market
Paia Fish Market is a legend on Maui when it comes to serving up some of the freshest fish out there. The owners of Paia Fish Market work with local fishermen to serve daily fresh cathes, as well as local farmers to ensure that all their ingredients are only locally sourced. For multiple years in a row, they have taken home the title of “Best Fish Sandwhich” on Maui and are also known to have one of the best fish tacos. Daily catches include mahi mahi, ono, snapper, ahi and opah and can be prepared in a variety of ways to meet the needs of each customer. Other popular dishes include their fried calamari, seafood pasta, fish burgers and fish and chips. Pair any of these with a cold beer and you’re in seafood heaven! Paia Fish Market is located on Front Street in Lahaina across the street from the iconic banyan tree. This is a wonderful place to stop for a bite to eat while exploring this historic town, or before or after a sailing trip from Lahaina Harbor. |
